Description:
It measures 3ft 8⅞ inches wide, dates from around 1930, and remains in excellent condition. Originally, Roberts & Co. of Willenhall — a “Complete House Furnishers” — sold this Art Deco walnut desk in 1930’s England. Notably, the desk boasts a classic “skyscraper” design, clearly visible in the bow-shaped top section, which sits on stepped pedestals finished in two-tone, book-matched figured walnut with a burr elm frame.

Furthermore, this Art Deco writing desk features a new curved 6mm glass panel top with polished edges. If you don’t need the glass top, you can simply remove it. Meanwhile, the desk’s structure includes a small central drawer flanked by larger drawers, and each pedestal houses two further large working drawers, terminating on a recessed plinth. Bird’s-eye maple forms the drawer bottoms, which in turn denotes the quality of this desk. In addition, the drawers still retain their original burr elm moulded handles, and skilled craftsmen joined them with hand-cut dovetail joints.

This fine-quality antique Art Deco pedestal desk features burr and figured walnut, seven drawers, and a glass panel top. It measures 3ft 8⅞ inches wide, dates from around 1930, and remains in excellent condition. This walnut desk has been adapted from a dressing table. Our workshop has since hand-cleaned and French polished this executive Art Deco desk to a professional standard; therefore, the colour and patination remain excellent. The top and leading edges show nominal signs of old use — nothing significant, given the age of the item. Additionally, this luxury Art Deco desk now includes a new 6mm toughened, curved glass panel top with polished edges, and the desktop itself shows no stains or scratches. Furthermore, the drawers still retain their original burr elm moulded handles. This Art Deco home office desk displays a lovely mellow honey colour and patination — again, a quality that only age and years of careful cleaning can produce. In short, this Art Deco executive desk boasts solid construction and tight joints, and it is ready to use.
