Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910, these items were functional dress accessories crafted from sterling silver, featuring scrollwork, foliate motifs, and pierced patterns popularised during the era.

Antique silver belt buckles were typically forged from sterling silver using techniques such as casting, piercing, and hand-engraving, joined via a central hook-and-loop mechanism or interlocking sides attached to fabric or leather belts.

Authentic pieces feature British hallmarks including a lion passant mark indicating sterling purity, an assay town mark, a makers mark, and a specific date letter representing the year of manufacture.

An antique silver buckle can be mounted on a custom leather strap to serve as a waist belt, styled as a cloak clasp, or displayed within a shadow-box frame as an example of historical metalwork.

Clean gently using a soft microfibre cloth designed for silver to remove surface tarnish, avoiding abrasive polishes or immersion in chemical dips that can strip hand-engraved details or natural patination.
