Lancastrian Jewellers has dated this Rolled Gold Albert Chain to the 1900s.
The chain was named after Prince Albert, who was said to have been fond of wearing watch chains. The Dog clip would have been used to attach the pocket watch, too, and the T-bar would go through the buttonhole of a waistcoat to secure it in place.
Today, these are often worn as necklaces, and the clip can be used to hang a pendant around the neck.

CONDITION
This fantastic rolled-gold chain is in very good condition. The dog clips are in fine working order, and the T-bar is in good condition too, with a clear hallmark. There is light wear as expected on a rolled gold item, but no damage to note. The dog clips and T-bar match and are original to the chain, and it is a great length to wear as a short necklace.
