Description

An early 19th century mahogany corner washstand dating from circa 1825, beautifully designed to fit neatly into the corner of a room. Crafted from richly figured mahogany, the stand features a shaped gallery top above an open shelf, with a single working central drawer flanked by two dummy drawer fronts, creating a pleasing symmetrical appearance.

Below is a useful shaped undertier providing additional storage, the whole standing on elegant splayed legs. The washstand retains its attractive turned brass knob handles and has developed a rich colour and mellow patina over the years.

Originally intended for use in a Georgian bedroom, this versatile piece now makes an excellent lamp table, bedside table or occasional corner cabinet, bringing both charm and practicality to any interior.
