Description

A fabulous antique Yomut carpet, woven in Turkmenistan circa 1900. This carpet features an all over geometrical design of classic ‘Dyrnak’ guls on a rich red field surrounded by a pretty ivory border. Very finely woven with great quality wool and some lovely secondary colours, especially the green and mid blue.

Size: 2.98m x 1.94m (9ft 9in x 6ft 4in)

This rug has light, age related wear, slightly heavier in places. Small area of restoration to a section of the field, professionally done (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
