MebleinUK has dated these Victorian Walnut Salon Chairs to the Victorian era.

Both chairs feature beautifully shaped walnut frames with carved decorative detailing, turned front legs and elegant proportions. The gentleman's chair is finished with substantial shaped arms and upholstered armrests, while the lady's chair has an open-sided design giving it a lighter and more delicate appearance.

The high upholstered backs and generously padded seats are finished in an attractive traditional floral tapestry-style fabric in soft green, pink, blue and gold tones. Deep buttoning to the backrests adds further period character.

The warm walnut frames have developed an attractive colour and patina, with the carved details particularly effective around the upper backrests and shoulders.
Both chairs stand on turned front legs with castors, another characteristic detail of quality Victorian seating from this period.
