Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Napkin rings were introduced in early 19th-century Europe to identify individual cloth napkins between washings. Throughout the Victorian, Edwardian, and George V eras, they became popular decorative elements for formal table settings, crafted in sterling silver with varied engraved designs.

Traditional napkin rings are crafted from sterling silver or silver plate, utilizing techniques such as engine turning, bright-cut engraving, and die-stamping. Milled or beaded borders were frequently added to reinforce the edges and provide decorative detail.

Authentic British sterling silver from the George V period carries full official hallmarks, including the lion passant mark for silver purity, an assay office symbol, a makers mark, and a date letter corresponding to the years 1910 through 1936.

Antique silver napkin rings can be combined with modern neutral linens and contemporary tableware to create visual contrast. Placing silver accents against dark or textured tablecloths highlights the detailed engraving and metallic finish.

Silver napkin rings should be polished regularly with a non-abrasive silver cloth or specialized silver foam to remove tarnish without harming the engraving. Storing silver items in cloth wraps or anti-tarnish pouches helps protect the surface from oxidisation.
