Description

An impressive 1930s English haberdashery display counter by Dudley & Co. Ltd., Holloway, London, constructed in oak with a streamlined chromed metal frame.

Designed for commercial use, the counter features twenty open display trays to the customer-facing side, ideal for presenting ribbons, haberdashery, stationery or small merchandise, whilst the reverse is fitted with twenty drawers, providing generous concealed storage. The original glazed top protects the display while allowing the contents of the upper trays to remain visible.

Retaining its original Dudley & Co. Ltd., Holloway, London N.7 maker's plaque, the piece is an excellent example of British shopfitting craftsmanship from one of London's respected showcase manufacturers.

Possessing a strong commercial character and a distinctly architectural Art Deco design, this counter would make an exceptional centrepiece for a retail interior, jewellery boutique, fashion store, gallery or private collection of original shop fittings. Fitted with new toughed glass.
