Hingstons of Wilton has dated this Regency Twin Pedestal Table to the 1910s.
A handsome Regency style twin pillar dining table, made by a skilled cabinetmaker circa 1910, with a beautifully figured mahogany top displaying the rich colour and character of earlier Georgian timber.
This impressive early 20th-century dining table is particularly interesting because the cabinetmaker recycled Georgian timber, which was plentiful at the time and considered superior to much of the newly available timber.

The table follows the elegant Regency twin pillar dining table tradition, with two substantial pedestal supports and gracefully swept legs beneath. The warm, highly figured mahogany top has softly rounded corners, giving the table a refined appearance while making it practical for comfortable dining.

A 54cm (21 1/4in) removable leaf allows the table to be extended when additional seating is required. It measures 156cm (61 1/2in) closed and extends to an impressive 210cm (82 3/4in) with the leaf in place.

A versatile and decorative piece of early 20th-century antique furniture, this Regency style dining table would make an elegant centrepiece in a traditional dining room, country house, period property or sophisticated contemporary interior.

The combination of Regency-inspired design recycled Georgian mahogany and skilled cabinetmaking makes this an especially appealing example of the early 20th-century revival of historic furniture styles. Twin pillar extending tables of this form are recognised for their distinctive pedestal construction and practical ability to accommodate additional diners.
