Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian Sheraton Revival seating, produced predominantly between 1890 and 1910, emulates the late 18th-century designs of Thomas Sheraton. It is characterised by slender proportions, Neoclassical influence, intricate marquetry inlays, and turned or tapered legs.

Dense mahogany was the primary wood utilized for frames, frequently decorated with satinwood, boxwood, or rosewood marquetry inlays. The construction included webbed seat frames with traditional padding, brass castors on turned front legs, and fabric upholstery.

Original pieces feature precise joinery, smooth timber patination, and detailed marquetry work showing subtle wear consistent with age. Look for authentic turn-of-the-century structural elements, such as period brass castors and hand-finished timber undersides.

Salon chairs function effectively as decorative accent seating when positioned beside a console table, within an entrance hall, or flanking a fireplace. Positioning their dark timber silhouettes against neutral or contemporary backgrounds highlights their classical form.

Dust wood surfaces regularly using a clean, soft cloth, and apply a natural beeswax polish periodically to protect the mahogany and marquetry. Position the chairs away from direct sunlight and artificial heat sources to avoid dry timber cracking or veneer lifting.
