Arrowsmith Antiques & Interiors has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The case is surmounted with a pharaoh stood inside a clam shell holding a trident.

The inset delicately hand painted porcelain panels have themed landscape scenes, and they are framed with pyramid mouldings. The porcelain dial has Arabic numerals, and the clock has a French eight day duration movement, which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.

The back plate is stamped with the makers name -

The movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.

Richard et Cie was established in Paris in 1848. They later opened premises in London at 24 Cannon Street in 1857 and were known as Richard & Co. They had workshops at Rue Bondy in Paris.
