Penderyn Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

The plank seats retain a deep, rich colour and attractive grain, while the chairs stand on turned front legs united by square stretchers, with plain rear legs continuing into the back uprights. Well-balanced in design, they display the restrained architectural form associated with traditional wainscot furniture. A decorative and well-matched pair with good colour and patina throughout.
