Puckerings has dated this Silver Fox Letter Opener to the 1920s.
What makes this particularly collectable is that it is a period piece, nearly 100 years old and made by the top notch silversmith's, Asprey of London, fully hallmarked for Chester 1927 and signed on the underside.

Excellent condition measuring 5" in length x 1/2" wide x 1/2" deep. Weight: 20.9 Grams / 0.67 Troy Ounces.

Asprey was founded in 1781 by William Asprey as a silk-printing workshop in Mitcham, Surrey. It evolved into a premier British luxury emporium renowned for fine jewellery, silver, and leather goods. Moving to London's New Bond Street in 1847, the firm earned its first Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria in 1862.
