The chest features an unusual drawer configuration, with three long graduated drawers arranged beneath a series of five smaller upper drawers, offering excellent storage and strong visual symmetry. The drawers are fitted with attractive turned mahogany handles and run smoothly.

A particularly distinctive feature is the deep bottom drawer incorporated into the plinth base, a highly practical design detail that adds both storage and architectural interest.
