Antique Victorian Adjustable Reading Stand

Description

A fine quality late Victorian adjustable reading stand, raised on a heavy cast iron tripod base with decorative paw feet and retaining its original brass column and extending arm. The solid timber book rest is mounted on an adjustable brass bracket, allowing both the height and angle to be altered to sui the user.

Designed for holding large books, music scores or documents, the stand is both practical and highly decorative, with an elegant combination of cast iron, brass and polished timber. A particularly well-made example with a pleasing weight and quality throughout.
