LTANTIQUES.CO.UK has dated this Pop Up Drinks Table to the 1900s.

Presented in very good showroom condition, the table features a distinctive split-hinged top, which opens to reveal a beautifully fitted interior that rises smoothly into position with a soft-close rise-and-fall action. The fitted interior is complete with four tumbler glasses and twelve shot glasses, ready for entertaining.

The original Waring & Gillow brass maker’s plaque is retained inside, stamped:
“Waring & Gillow, Oxford St. London. W. Pats. 1631.5466”
The table is finished on all sides, allowing it to stand freely within a room rather than against a wall. It is raised on elegant tapering square-section legs, each terminating in brass-mounted castors.

A particularly desirable and highly decorative example of Waring & Gillow’s innovative furniture, offering a wonderful combination of craftsmanship, functionality and theatrical surprise. An excellent statement piece for a drawing room, study, bar or entertaining space.
