Crafted with sweeping, curved sides (corbeille style) and classic Neoclassical detailing, the carved frame is adorned with ribbon-twist moulding, floral rosette blocks, and central acanthus leaf carving along the top rail. The piece stands on six spiralled / stop-fluted turned supports, providing exceptional structure and authentic visual weight.

Discovered nestled in an estate near the sun-drenched coast of the South of France, this piece embodies the effortless elegance of traditional Provencal living. Crafted in around Circa 1910 in homage to 18th-century royal French furniture design, it served as a peaceful lounging piece in a sunlit bastide, capturing the breezy, timeless warmth of the French countryside.

Frame: Carved wood in a gently distressed French-green painted finish with soft grey-blue undertones.
Panelling: Natural woven cane panels across the back and enclosed sides, all in excellent structural condition.

Supports: Raised on 6 turned and fluted supports (4 corner posts and 2 central stabilizing legs).
Original Feather & Spring Mattress Details
Traditional Construction: Features the original, high-quality mattress constructed with a traditional steel spring core enveloped in heavy layers of natural duck feathers and down.

Classic Ticking & Comfort: Offers a luxurious, crowned "featherbed" loft and soft support that modern foam blocks simply cannot replicate.
Bolster Cushions: Includes the two matching original cylindrical bolster cushions (traversins), fully filled with natural feathers to complete the classic French silhouette.

Upholstery Included: The Silk covers have been removed due to damage, the base is covered in an original French ticking and edged in an Ivory Damask. The Mattress will be re covered in a new Ivory calico upholstery fabric ready to be covered in your Bedding or fabric of your choice.
