We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency supper table is a late 18th- to early 19th-century compact dining table designed with drop-leaf sides. Popularised during the British Regency era, these tables allowed flexible spatial use for intimate gatherings and casual dining.

Primary construction utilised dense, fine-grained mahogany, frequently sourced from the West Indies or South America. Decorative accenting typically featured contrasting boxwood or satinwood stringing, accompanied by cast brass hardware and brass castors.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints on frieze drawers, hand-carved rule joints along the drop leaves, and square-tapered or reeded legs. Natural timber shrinkage over time often leaves slight irregularities in oval dimensions.

Place the table against a wall as a console with leaves folded down, or position it in a central bay window as a breakfast table. Juxtaposing rich polished mahogany against neutral linen upholstery creates a balanced, contemporary scheme.

Dust surfaces regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply beeswax twice yearly in the direction of the wood grain. Keep the item away from direct sunlight and radiator heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage and veneer lifting.
