Gillers Antiques Ltd has dated this Sevres Porcelain Tazza Dish to the Victorian era.
It is adorned with rich hand-applied gilding—specifically, elaborate foliate scrolls and floral sprays framing the reserves, and a delicate gilded floral wreath encircling the base. The underside bears the green Louis-Philippe royal cipher ('LP') mark under a crown for 1835, together with the handwritten titles of the two views: Montlhéry and Mont-Blanc.
The importance of this piece lies not only in the royal Sèvres mark and early 1835 date, but in the extremely rare combination of features: the elegant scalloped tazza form, blue ground, intricate gilded ornament and two named topographical landscape views. This is not a standard service plate, but a refined decorative object of very high quality.
One reserve depicts Montlhéry, with houses, snow-covered roofs, trees and small figures in the foreground. The other depicts Mont-Blanc, with a wooden building, trees and an alpine mountain background. The painting is very finely executed, with soft tonal transitions, careful detail and excellent preservation of the painted surfaces.
Extensive image-based and feature-based research, including AI-assisted visual comparison by form, colour, decoration and subject, has not revealed another directly comparable tazza with the same combination of features. With a high degree of probability, it may be assumed that this piece was part of a very small special commission or possibly an individual order, rather than a standard production service. The specific pairing of this elaborate decoration with strict topographical locations is unprecedented, and absolutely no exact analogs have been found. For serious collectors of early 19th-century Sèvres porcelain, this represents a major discovery and a highly coveted addition to any important collection.

Condition:
very good antique condition. There is minor dulling to the blue colour on the inner rim in a few places, and very slight wear to the gilding on the upper rim. Otherwise, the condition is excellent: the painted reserves, gilding and decorative details are beautifully preserved.
