Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bridge boxes gained immense popularity in the early 20th century during the Edwardian era, following the rapid rise of the card game bridge in polite society. Silvermakers and box manufacturers produced specialized wooden and leather containers to hold playing cards, score pads, and pencils for social gaming gatherings.

Edwardian card boxes were commonly constructed from hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or rosewood, lined with velvet or silk. Decorative accents often featured hallmarked sterling silver corner mounts, silver script plaques, and metal escutcheons.

Authenticity is verified by British silver hallmarks struck on the silver mounts, which indicate the silver purity mark, town mark, makers initials, and date letter corresponding to the Edwardian period (19011910).

An antique card box functions as an accent piece when displayed on a coffee table, bookshelf, or desk. Its combination of natural timber and metallic detail allows it to integrate with both traditional and contemporary interior decor schemes.

Maintain the timber by dusting with a soft cloth and applying a neutral beeswax polish periodically. Preserve the silver mounts using a specialized silver polishing cloth, avoiding harsh liquid cleaners that could damage adjacent wood.
