Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Nouveau stoneware ceramics are recognised for organic, flowing motifs inspired by nature, including stylized florals, sinuous curves, and vivid polychrome glazes. Produced primarily between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, these vessels combined functional stoneware bodies with artistic hand-painted decorations.

Stoneware was crafted using dense, durable clay fired at high temperatures. Decorators applied metallic oxide slips, liquid glazes, or incised patterns directly onto the unfired or biscuit body, after which a high-heat kiln process fused the glazes to create complex, tactile surface finishes.

Authentic pieces usually feature impressed manufacturer backstamps, model numbers, and hand-incised artist monograms or initials near the base. Examining glaze quality, kiln marks, and weight also provides evidence of original period craftsmanship.

Vibrant glazed ceramics serve as focal accents when positioned on wooden sideboards, mantels, or open shelving. Combining historical stoneware with understated neutral backdrops highlights the rich colour combinations and organic patterns of the pottery.

Dust stoneware regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, wipe gently with lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding abrasive chemical cleaners, prolonged submersion, or sudden temperature changes that could crazing or damage glaze integrity.
