Description

This exquisite solid silver tea caddy is dated Birmingham 1901 and was made by Thomas Hayes. Of oval bombe form, the lower section embossed with wrythen fluting. The shoulders embossed with foliate scrolls. Vacant cartouche to the front . The neck with hallmarked pull-off cover. The inner cover gilt.

Hallmarks:

T.H for Thomas Hayes.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "b" for 1901.

Dimensions and Weight:

Height: 11cm / 4.2 inches.

Width: 8cm / 3.2 inches.

Weight: 94g / 3.3oz.
