Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kashmiri papier-mache craft, known as Kari-kalamdani, developed from 14th-century Persian influences. Artisans crafted durable vessels from layered paper pulp, decorating them with detailed hand-painted floral, foliage, and bird motifs before applying protective lacquer coatings.

These bowls were built by moulding wet paper pulp over forms until dried into a dense structure. Once smoothed and primed, artists applied intricate designs using natural mineral pigments, sealing the finished piece with clear varnish or lacquer.

Authentic historic pieces display precise brushwork depicting natural themes such as birds, floral scrolls, or arabesques. They generally feature fine age craquelure across the varnish surface and possess a lightweight, rigid structure.

Position the bowl as a focal point on a console table, sideboard centre, or shelf to introduce global pattern and colour. The detailed hand-painted surface provides visual contrast against plain timber, marble, or stone surfaces.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, keeping the vessel clear of damp environments and direct sunlight. Avoid liquid cleaners and immersion in water to prevent damage to the paper substrate and lacquered seal.
