Puckerings has dated this Victorian Tortoiseshell Photo Frame to the Victorian era.

The construction is top notch, with all the hinges fully hallmarked together with the folding easel stand. The silver is fully hallmarked in numerous places for London 1889 together with the highly sought-after Queen Victoria's head duty mark and the makers mark H.A for Henry Atkin / Atkin Brothers.

The front of the frame comprises are pair of doors secured at the front with a catch, it opens to reveal a solid silver frame surrounding the original bevelled glass aperture measuring 5 5/8" x 3 7/8",

The overall measurement of the frame while closed is 8 1/4" x 5 3/4" x 5/8". An extraordinary find in superb condition having been professionally cleaned and polished in our silversmith's workshop.
