Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Furniture produced by Heal & Son during the 1920s often combines Arts and Crafts craftsmanship with early modern utility. Designs emphasised clean geometric lines, unvarnished or lightly waxed oak surfaces, chamfered details, and solid timber handles.

Early 20th-century wardrobes were built using traditional joinery, including mortise and tenon joints, frame-and-panel construction, and solid timber backings. They were often designed to dismantle into sections to facilitate transport through narrow corridors and stairways.

Authentic Heals pieces from the 1920s typically feature an inset ivory, bone, or brass makers disk, or an engraved ivorine plaque on the inner frame or door edge. The quality of joinery, distinctive oak grain selection, and understated geometric handles also indicate genuine production.

A large oak wardrobe serves as a focal piece in contemporary or traditional bedrooms, pairing well with neutral wall palettes and woven textiles. The warm tone of natural oak softens modern minimalism while providing functional storage space.

To preserve solid oak, apply a high-quality beeswax polish twice yearly along the direction of the grain. Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and extreme humidity changes to prevent shrinkage or movement in the wooden panels.
