A Quality Victorian Antique / Old Pine 1 Door Waxed Hall Cupboard

Description

This cupboard is in good condition. We have professionally stripped and restored it and then waxed it in a lovely antique brown bri wax giving it a stunning patina.

The cupboard would look well in an old or modern property amongst similar antique pine furniture for storage.

The cupboard stands on a square plinth supporting the main section. There is one large door. The door has one panel with a moulding around the edge and a brass round turned knob. Behind the door there are shelves. The shelves are not fixed so you could place more in if required. The top is in good condition with a slight bull nosed edge.

The height is 92cm, the width is 89cm and the depth is 44cm.

WE OFFER FREE DELIVERY TO ENGLAND, WALES, AND SCOTLAND (BELOW PERTH)

Shipping /delivery is equally as important to us as the item of furniture itself. It is simple; we deliver everything personally in England / Wales so this way we are 100% sure that the item / furniture reaches our customers safe and sound. We NEVER use couriers. Delivery is generally within 7-14 days of purchase. We guarantee delivery anywhere in England / Wales within 21 days of purchase.

Deliveries to Scotland as far north as Perth are guaranteed within 6 weeks of purchase. If delivery is required above Perth in Scotland please contact James on 07957 392 074 or

james@davidhuntantiques.com for a price.

Deliveries are either carried out by David or James as one member of the team is required to stay in the warehouse, therefore we do require assistance from the van into your hallway with the item of furniture. We have set delivery days and once the van is loaded (a day prior to delivery) David will call customers to arrange a two hour delivery time slot. Customers will also receive a text when delivery is 30 minutes away.

It is really helpful if customers can provide their ‘what3words’ location to make delivery as smooth

as possible, especially properties in rural locations.

Ireland Deliveries

We do use a very good courier company called DVM Service to deliver goods to Ireland. We ask the customer to pay this company direct for the delivery charge and we then liaise with DVM regarding collection of a customer’s item of furniture to be shipped to Ireland.

Europe & Rest of the World

We do not ship to Europe or the Rest of the World.

During the nineteenth century, pine furniture was widely produced across Britain for functional domestic storage. Originally often painted or used in utility areas, these sturdy pieces featured simple panelled doors and compact depths suitable for narrow entryways and corridors.

Victorian pine cupboards were typically crafted from solid Scots pine or imported Baltic red pine using traditional joinery, including hand-cut dovetail joints and panelled doors held with iron or brass hardware. The surfaces were historically finished with simple wax or lead-based paint.
