A Chelsea Derby Porcelain Trio in pattern 34 c.1785. The upper section decorated with a wide band of 'Smith' Blue' and a trailing floral pattern in gold and enamel. The lower section with 'Pinecone' moulding and 'Vandyke' pattern gilding. 

Crown over crossed letter 'D' in puce 

Condition: Excellent 

Literature: Stephen Mitchell - Marks on Chelsea Derby Porcelains 1770 - 1790 - Plate 85 M4 for a saucer in this pattern

Chelsea Derby porcelain refers to English ceramics manufactured during the period from 1770 to 1784, when William Duesbury, owner of the Derby factory, operated the Chelsea works prior to its consolidation with Derby.

Pieces from this era were produced using soft-paste porcelain clay bodies, decorated with overglaze enamel colours, and finished with hand-applied mercury gilding.

Authentic items often feature combined anchor and D factory marks in gold or red, translucent soft-paste bodies with translucent green spots under light, and hand-painted Neoclassical detailing.
