The English Interior has dated this Champleve Enamel Agate Box to the 19th Century.
1880. The box of oval form with a frieze of colourful flowers rendered in champlevé enamel against a white ground that scroll in a band around the central body of the box.

The cover and base of the box also feature bevelled double sided banded agate with beautiful colour, luminosity, and transparency. The cover is hinged and the hinge is in fantastic condition.
Wonderful condition with only a couple of miniscule, hard to see losses commensurate with the age of the piece.
