Antique Cast Iron & Brass Postal Scale with Dual Gauge - Enamel

Description

Dating to around 1900, this late Victorian or Edwardian scale is made to store completely flat with a folding leg and the removable brass pan.

The scale has a dual gauge when the weight is placed upwards on the arm, this allows weighing of lighter items on the upper gauge; when the weight is down the lower gauge comes into play for heavier pieces. The gauge is beautifully enameled.

The stand is made from cast iron and the fittings of brass having been professionally re-polished to gleam.

Excellent condition and an interesting desk of office accessory. Measures 8" wide x 10 1/4" tall.
