Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this Silver Plated Glass Centrepiece to the 1860s.

Elegantly proportioned, the centrepiece stands on a shaped tripod base with three raised feet, richly ornamented with garlands of vine leaves and bunches of grapes. The beautifully modelled central column is formed from two entwined vine stems, adorned with finely detailed foliage and hanging fruit, rising to a naturalistic upper support that securely holds the original cut crystal glass bowl.

Designed as an impressive table display, the piece was undoubtedly intended for the presentation of grapes and is accompanied by its original pair of silver plated grape scissors, adding both charm and authenticity.

The stand is robustly cast in nickel silver with a high quality silver plated finish, displaying crisp detail throughout. Both the stand and the original cut crystal bowl are in excellent condition, with no damage, repairs, or losses.

A striking and elegant Victorian centrepiece that combines outstanding craftsmanship with impressive scale and decorative appeal.
