Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Basso-rilievo prints, popularised in the 18th century by artists such as Samuel Dixon, are embossed paper pictures featuring raised relief detailing that creates a three-dimensional effect.

These works were produced using heavy paper pressed into copper or brass moulds to form raised relief, which was then hand-painted in gouache or watercolour and set into timber or gilded frames.

Authentic pieces exhibit distinct embossed contours visible on the paper surface, hand-applied gouache pigments, and characteristic paper aging such as light foxing or tonal mellowing.

Position this type of framed artwork on a gallery wall alongside contemporary prints, or hang it above a sideboard to add depth and historical detail to a modern space.

Display the artwork away from direct sunlight and areas of high humidity, ensure it remains mounted behind protective glass, and refrain from pressing on the raised paper relief.
