Description

A well made oak bookcase from the the Arthur Simpson workshop in Kendal. A lovely bookcase in good condition, fixed shelves with a depth of 21.5cm the height of the shelves from the top 19cm 21.5cm 22cm and the bottom 25cm, made around 1930-1940 all ready to use.

Arthur Simpson born 1857 trained as a craftsman, he returning to Kendal to open his workshop "the handicrafts" in 1885 until he died in 1922 when his son carried on the Arts & Crafts workshop until it closed in 1950.
