This is an exceptionally fine original 19th-century Oil on Canvas Painting attributed to the Royal Academy-listed British artist Thomas Kent Pelham (1831–1907).
The outstanding composition depicts an enchanting Spanish street scene, where a small group of local townspeople gather beneath the archway of a historic building.
At the heart of the scene, two elegantly dressed ladies carrying a water jug are engaged in conversation with a handsome young gentleman, accompanied by his hardworking donkey. The painting is housed within a substantial and highly complementary 19th-century-style gilt moulded frame, enhancing its impressive presentation. It is ready to be hung and enjoyed immediately.
