Antique 20th century Jacobean style bureau bookcase in oak, a superb example of traditional craftsmanship combining elegant design with excellent practicality.

The upper section features a pair of beautifully glazed doors enclosing two adjustable shelves, making it ideal for displaying books, ceramics or treasured collections. The cabinet also retains its original key.

The fall-front bureau opens to reveal a beautifully fitted interior with an arrangement of drawers and pigeonholes, creating an attractive and functional writing space.

Beneath are three generously sized drawers, all retaining their original dropper handles and offering useful storage. The whole piece is supported by classic barley twist legs united by a sturdy stretcher, perfectly complementing its Jacobean styling.

Crafted from beautifully figured oak, the bureau bookcase displays a rich, warm colour and striking natural grain throughout. Its bold proportions, quality construction and decorative detailing make it a highly desirable piece that is equally suited to both period and contemporary interiors.
