We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Manganese Delft tiles are tin-glazed earthenware ceramics produced in Holland and Britain during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, distinguished by hand-painted monochrome decoration using manganese oxide, which produces a distinctive purple-brown shade.

These tiles were formed from local earthenware clay, dried, and coated in an opaque white tin glaze before being hand-painted with metallic oxides and fired in wood-burning kilns.

Authentic pieces typically feature small pinholes in the corners from the wooden boards used during cutting, a coarse reddish-buff earthenware backing, subtle variations in hand painting, and light glaze crazing.

Framed tile groupings work exceptionally well mounted above a mantelpiece, hung within a gallery wall of historic prints, or displayed on a sideboard to add textual warmth and historical character.

Dust tiles regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or natural bristle brush, avoiding liquid immersion or abrasive cleaning agents that could compromise the tin glaze or wooden framing.
