Art Deco glass from Czechoslovakia during the 1930s is recognised for its bold geometric forms, clean lines, and vibrant enamel decoration. Glassworks in Bohemia combined traditional glass-blowing expertise with modern interwar aesthetics, producing striking functional items such as decanters, vases, and liqueur sets.

Enamel decoration was hand-painted onto the cold, finished glass surface using powdered glass pigments mixed with oil binders. The glass vessel was then re-fired at a lower temperature in a muffle kiln to fuse the enamel permanently to the surface without distorting the underlying crystal structure.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit slight hand-finished irregularities, light wear or scratch marks on the underside of the base, and polished pontil marks. Additionally, original period enamel decoration shows minor hand-painted variations and appropriate age-related surface wear, rather than perfectly uniform modern machine printing.

Place the jug on a timber sideboard, brass tray, or marble-topped bar cart to highlight its transparent glass and coloured enamel accents. Position it where light can pass through the body to accentuate the geometric pattern and cobalt blue stopper.
