Antique Solid Silver Novelty Pepper - Dog

Description

This is a beautiful piece of solid sterling silver - a novelty pepper fashioned as a dog .

I am reliably informed that the dog in question is an English Pointer. He carries import marks for London 1904 with the importer's mark of Theodor Hartmann. The Dutch hallmarks are clearly visible also.

The detailing on this dog is fantastic and the silver is in excellent condition. He is a tactile, chunky chap, weighing in a just over 100g/4 ozs. His head removes to reveal the pepper shaker.
