A George II fruitwood single chair
The dished shaped and moulded top rail above a well figured solid splat back of constrained design to shaped foot, the back with bevelled edge, the drop in seat is upholstered, stands on square front legs with a moulded edge and swept splayed back legs, united by stretchers. The use of fruitwood in this single chair sets it apart from comparable chairs in the more usual mahogany or walnut.
