Treasure Trove Worcester Ltd has dated this Gothic Revival Brass Gasolier to the 19th Century.

The circular frame is pierced with alternating quatrefoil and round motifs, supported by arched brass ribs rising to a domed top with decorative scrollwork. Three curved arms project from the ring, each designed to take a glass shade above the gas jets (now adapted for electricity).

The gasolier retains an attractive aged patina and comes with three impressive hand-blown opalescent glass shades of softly crimped bell form, each with a delicate iridescent sheen.

Condition:
Brass frame with age related tarnish and some little distortion to shape. One lamp holder missing; requires rewiring before use. The opalescent shades of particularly fine quality, one with chip to bottom.
