Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian etched glass decanters from the late nineteenth century frequently feature delicate acid-etched or wheel-engraved botanical patterns, such as ferns, foliage, and geometric borders. They typically include tall, slender necks, decorative collars, and ground glass stoppers matched to the vessel.

Decanters from this era were primarily crafted from lead glass or crystal, prized for clarity, weight, and light refraction. Patterns were applied using copper-wheel engraving or acid-etching techniques to create frosted decorative surface details.

Authentic pieces generally display subtle hand-finishing marks, such as a ground pontil mark on the underside of the base, precise ground glass joints where the stopper meets the neck, and natural operational wear on the base perimeter.

A pair of glass decanters can be styled symmetrically on a wooden sideboard, placed on a brass bar cart, or arranged as a centerpiece on a formal dining table to add vertical interest and reflect light.

Hand wash decanters using lukewarm water and mild liquid detergent, avoiding dishwashers which cause clouding. To remove internal water marks or residue, use warm water mixed with soft nylon beads or uncooked rice, and dry thoroughly before replacing the stopper.
