A Rare 19th Century Dutch Silver Sewing Clamp with Pin Cushion

Description

A rare and desirable Dutch silver sewing clamp. These lovely tiems were crafted to act as a 'third hand' and historically, were known as naaiklem or naaivogel. They are secured to the edge of a table and secure the fabric for detailed work

This lovely example features reeded decoration, has an inverted heart shaped screw terminal and to the top, a boat shaped green velvet pin cusion with a swivel action. Sewing clamps are sought after items for needlework enthusiasts and this fine piece is both practical and collectable. Dimensions below.
