Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Emerging during the reign of King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910, Edwardian jewellery is characterised by light, openwork designs incorporating garland, scroll, and floral motifs. Craftspeople frequently paired seed pearls with gemstones set in yellow gold or platinum to create delicate, lace-like structures.

Craftsmen during the Edwardian period predominantly utilised 15ct gold, 18ct gold, and platinum. Designs frequently incorporated natural seed pearls, aquamarines, diamonds, and amethysts set in fine claw or bezel mounts with hand-finished openwork detailing.

Authentic British Edwardian pieces often bear standard hallmark stamps indicating 15ct gold, a fineness standard discontinued in the United Kingdom in 1932. They typically feature hand-cut scrollwork, fine millegrain borders, tube-and-pin fastenings, and lightweight symmetrical construction.

Brooches can be attached to modern tailored coat lapels, silk scarves, or velvet collars to introduce structural detail to contemporary garments. When not worn, fine antique jewellery is frequently displayed on velvet trays or under glass domes on a dressing table.

Natural pearls and aquamarines require soft cleaning using a dry, lint-free cloth without chemicals or ultrasonic exposure. Store the piece individually in a padded jewellery box away from moisture and direct sunlight to protect the setting and gold metalwork.
