Unusual 19th Century Silver Mounted Swirly Glass Scent Bottle, London 1908

1900 - 1920
Description

This is an unusual and very tactile silver mounted opaline glass scent bottle. The heavy glass body of flask form with swirly decorations in dark blue and green hues. The neck with a silver neck and hallmarked silver pull-off lid. The hallmarked lid embossed with foliate scrolls surrounding a vacant reserve. The inner lid corked. The base ground and polished.

Hallmarks:

Maker's marks indistinct.

London Assay mark.

Date letter "n" for 1908.

Lion passant.

Dimensions:

Height: 11cm /4. 4 inches.

Width: 6cm / 2.2 inches.

Depth: 4cm / 1.4 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

Glass in very good condition.

Silver lid in good to average condition, minor creases to reserve/

Neck in very good condition.
