N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this Antique Oak Cased Barograph to the Victorian era.
DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful quality antique barograph. The case is made from oak and has bevelled glass to all four sides and the top. The case has a lovely feature of a drawer where charts and other items can be stored. In addition is also has a thermometer which is a rare additional feature.
The barograph also has an ink bottle holder complete with it's ink bottle.

The barograph takes barometric measurements which in turn are recorded on a paper record sheet which is mounted on a clockwork revolving cylinder. The cylinder makes one full revolution in one week.
The glass is engraved 'TF2 8NJ JDQ'.

The barograph is in full working order and comes complete with spare charts and ink.

The approximate dimensions are:
14 1/2 inches (37 cm) long
8 3/4 inches (22.5 cm) deep.
8 1/2 inches (21.5 cm) high.

As you can see from these dimensions the barometer is of fantastic proportions.
CONDITION:
The barograph is in excellent condition and is in full working order. The case is also in excellent condition as can be seen in the photographs. The glass is in good condition just a couple of small scratches and the glass is engraved 'TF2 8NJ JDQ'. There are some tarnishing to the brass base plate commensurate with age and use which can be seen in the photographs.
