Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Welsh spinning chairs are small, high-backed wooden seats traditionally made in rural Wales during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. They were designed specifically for spinners working at wheel installations, featuring narrow backs that allowed free arm movement and low seats suited to pedal operation.

These chairs were typically constructed from local hard woods, predominantly oak or elm. Construction featured mortise and tenon joinery, hand-carved relief decoration, and turned legs directly socketed into a thick timber seat panel.

Authentic pieces feature signs of hand craftsmanship, such as subtle variations in carved reliefs, natural timber shrinkage around joint pegs, original dark patination, and wear on turned foot rails consistent with historical use.

Due to their narrow footprint and decorative relief carving, spinning chairs serve as sculptural accent pieces in entryways, stair landings, or vacant alcoves. They pair naturally with neutral textiles, stone floors, and rustic wood elements.

Dust regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the timber finish. Keep the item away from direct heat sources and excessive moisture to prevent warping or splitting.
