Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Nesting tables gained widespread popularity during the Edwardian era between 1901 and 1910 as practical space-saving solutions for tea service and social gatherings. Cabinetmakers of this period drew inspiration from 18th-century Sheraton and Hepplewhite designs, combining lightweight mahogany frames with line inlay.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid mahogany and mahogany veneers, accented with satinwood or boxwood line inlay. Traditional construction methods included mortise-and-tenon joints, slatted side stretchers for support, and precise channel grooves allowing the smaller tables to slide beneath the larger ones.

Authentic Edwardian examples exhibit genuine age-related patination, precise timber inlay, and lightweight proportions. Inspecting the underside reveals hand-cut joinery, structural wear consistent with sliding inner tables, and natural wood oxidation.

Position the nest clustered together beside a sofa or armchair to create tiered surface heights, or separate the individual tables across a room when entertaining guests. Their slender silhouettes allow them to blend into both modern and traditional interior schemes.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth and applying a clear beeswax polish along the grain once or twice a year. Keep the tables away from direct heat sources and central heating radiators to prevent timber shrinkage or veneer damage.
