An engaging oil painting of the Edinburgh skyline by the French artist Jane Simone Bussy, niece of Bloomsbury Group founder Lytton Strachey. Bussy was a regular summer visitor to Charleston, the celebrated Sussex home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, and moved within the wider Bloomsbury circle. She exhibited at London''s prestigious Lefevre Gallery, and in 1998 her work was included in the exhibition Sixty Years On at the Bloomsbury Workshop.
This atmospheric composition is fully signed and painted in oil on the artist''s board. It is presented in an elegant period frame, believed to be original.
Provenance
Acquired at auction in south-western France, close to the artist''s former home. A copy of the purchase invoice will be supplied to the purchaser.

In good, sound original condition with no apparent issues. The painting would benefit from a light surface clean. The frame displays attractive a
