Gillers Antiques Ltd has dated this Royal Worcester Cabinet Plate to the 1960s.
The plate is decorated in Royal Worcester's celebrated Painted Fruit pattern. The central reserve is masterfully hand-painted and signed by the Royal Worcester factory artist Brian Leaman, depicting a finely executed still life of peaches and grapes against the characteristic mossy ground traditionally associated with Royal Worcester Painted Fruit decoration. The composition is magnificently framed by a deep underglaze cobalt blue border lavishly enriched with hand-applied 24-carat gold decoration, creating a striking contrast with the brilliantly coloured fruit painting.
Trained under the distinguished Royal Worcester fruit painter John Freeman, he continued this celebrated artistic tradition. Signed works by recognised Royal Worcester fruit painters are generally more desirable to collectors than comparable unsigned examples.
Particularly noteworthy is the complete absence of wear to the gilt foot rim on the reverse, a feature that strongly suggests the plate was preserved as a cabinet display piece rather than used for regular table service.
The reverse bears the official gold Royal Worcester Fine Bone China factory backstamp with the registered trademark symbol.

Condition:
Outstanding original cabinet condition. Examined under UV light, no evidence of restoration, repairs, chips or cracks was detected. The hand-painted decoration, enamels, cobalt blue ground and extensive gilt decoration remain in exceptional original condition, with no discernible signs of use.
