A rare and stunning Continental Hanau silver figural casket, raised on four feet and mounted at each corner with a finely detailed figure in a different pose, each playing a musical instrument. The lid and sides are beautifully decorated with an intricate figural design, while the interior retains its original gilt finish.
The casket is hallmarked with an import mark believed to be that of Berthold Müller, dated 1902, and stamped .925 silver. It is believed to be a German Hanau silver piece.
A substantial example, weighing an impressive 950 grams. Measures approximately 25 cm long (figure to figure), 15 cm wide (figure to figure), and 11 cm high.
Please note that the casket does not have a key.
An exceptional and highly decorative cabinet or table display piece.
