The Fancy Fox has dated this Victorian Porcelain Tea Canister to the Victorian era.
Decorated in an imari style in pattern 6299, known as the Witches pattern, with alternating panels of flowering vines reserved against a mazarine blue ground, over-gilt with scrolls, and a stylised vignette of exotic flowering plants in red and green enamel. All embellished with opulent gilding. The cover has a miniature version of these patterns radiating from the centre. Both pieces with the factory mark and date cypher for 1900 along with the pattern number painted in red.
It measures 11.5cm (4 1/2") high and 8cm (3 1/8") wide.
In truly excellent condition with no damager, repair or restoration and no discernible handling wear.
